【レースリポート】 BMX セバスチャン・カルトフォード選手（ノルウェー）：2012ヨーロッパ選手権・オランダ

2012 最初のヨーロッパラウンド 決勝‐オランダ・ファルケンスワールト
スーパーファイナルに参戦し、ロンドンワールドカップで11位を獲得した二週間後、メインベントである2012ヨーロッパ選手権の第一ラウンドの予選通過を果たした。
準決勝で優勝し、予選通過者では一位。これによってインサイドの第一レーンを獲得した。
一日を通して最初の直線コースでは良い走りをすることが出来て、決勝への準備も整った。
しかし第二レーンを走る、ラトヴィア人のリチャーズ・Veideも同じく好調で、ゲートが開くと最初のジャンプで、肘で僕の行く手を阻んだ。
その後は第一、第二ターンでもつれてしまい、これはレースの中盤まで続いた。
結果8位。それでも2012年のヨーロッパシーズンとしてはまずまずのスタートだった。
次のレースは、カリフォルニア州・サンディエゴ・テューラヴィスタで開かれる、スーパークロス・ワールドカップ第4戦。オリンピック選考得点を考えるとこのレースは非常に重要なものとなる。

Finals in first European round 2012 - Valkensward, Netherlands
Two weeks after getting into the superfinals and placing 11th at the London World cup. - I managed to qualify for the main event at the first round of the 2012 European Championship series. I was the number one qualifier as I won the first semifinal, therefore I got lane 1 on the inside. I was having good first straights all day and was ready for the final. In lane two Latvian Richards Veide was also having a good day at the office and as the gate dropped he managed to get a elbow on me over the first jump and close the door on me. After that I got tangled up in both turn one and two so it was pretty much over halfway trough.. Placed 8th. Still a good start to the 2012 European season.
Next race will be round 4 of the Supercross World Cup in Chula Vista, SD, California. This race will be crucial considering points towards Olympic qualification.
